hi everyone: We did a cruise of Doubtful Sound yesterday and it was a great way to unwind from the keplar track. Today we have driven to Arrowtown nd did a small walk along the Arrow River. Tommorow we head to Alexandrea to meet Mtb. friends and cycle the Otago Central Rail trail.
Tonight we are at a Backpackers in Arrowtown and have met and chatted with young folks from around the world. I bought two wool sweaters here but it is hot and I won't need them for a few days. M

Hi Bob & Margaret,
ReplyDeletesounds like you are having a fab time! and I am enjoying reading your posts so much, and the pictures are even more beautiful than my memories of the south island. If you have not yet passed through Queenstown and Wanaka - I stayed in Wanaka for a few days and there is a VERY cool old theatre there that plays indie films, all seating is old couches and recliners (or you can sit in the VW bug) and the have an intermission in the middle of the film where they serve you homemade cookies. It was a very cool place. Also there is a neat-o outdoor maze in Wanaka, I was lost for hours there! Wanaka is such a peaceful place after leaving the hustle and adventures of Queenstown (which if you are looking for adventure I would highly suggest spending a day to do the 'Frogz have more Fun Whitewater' AWESOME day...a helmet, a lifejacket, a body board, a wet suit and they send you down the river! Its an amazing way to see the river and it is SO much fun!
k, I gotta run. take care, miss you both.
PS we put an offer of purchase on a 1800's farm house this week and are in negotiations.
